Organizers of the annual GaymerX convention have announced that this year's show, GaymerX2, will be the final one for the foreseeable future. The GaymerX2 convention was successfully funded via a Kickstarter campaign that closed late last month. It's the sequel to last year's inaugural GaymerX, which was held in San Francisco's Japantown and featured musical performances, presentations and panel discussions about the state of inclusivity in games. According to a Facebook post from GaymerX founder Matt Conn, smaller and more sporadic GaymerX events may still take place in the future. "The size of our event and the amount of money we were losing to put it on became too much of a burden to keep at this pace," wrote Conn. "The dream of creating a better world for queer geeks will live on until there is true equality and we ask you to keep fighting the fight." GaymerX2 is still accepting speaker submissions through the end of April for the final convention, which will take place at the Intercontinental Hotel in downtown San Francisco July 11 - 13, 2014.
