Mobile game publisher Gameloft announced this week a new version of its Gameloft Live online service for Android, which adds new features and greater interactivity with other Gameloft Live users. The improved service underscores the importance mobile game publishers recognize in connecting players across a company's entire portfolio of games. Mobile game makers are finding they need new ways to promote their products and improve game discoverability in a market flooded with competing products. The company said that with "just one click," users can access the entire Gameloft portfolio, which includes games such as N.O.V.A., Asphalt and Modern Combat (pictured). The original Gameloft Live service is already used by over 7 million players worldwide on iOS and Android, the company said. The new version of the service lets community members create 3D avatars, connect with friends, challenge one another at games and follow each other's game progress. Gameloft will also offer special promotions through the service, and users will be able to receive virtual item gifts such as avatar accessories from the publisher. The new Android version of Gameloft Live is available now as a dedicated application on the Android Market, and will be available for Apple iOS devices "soon."
