Equity funding outfit and game publisher Gambitious has rebranded as Good Shepherd Entertainment and expanded its team with a number of fresh hires from Devolver Digital, Sony, South by Southwest, and Wargaming.

Devolver co-founder Mike Wilson, who'll now serve as Good Shepherd's chief creative officer, is perhaps the most notable new face.

A press release explains Wilson will dedicate "the lion's share of his time" to Good Shepherd, which seems to indicate he'll continue at Devolver in some capacity. A quick glance at Linkedin, where Wilson is still listed as working at the UK publisher, suggests the same.

There have also been some other personnel changes within the Good Shepherd ranks. Brian Grigsby, who has worked at the publisher for the past three years as a management consultant, has been named company CEO, while Gambitious founder Paul Hanraets will now serve as president.

"We love to start new things, iterating and evolving upon what we've created before,” said Wilson, speaking about the rebrand. "I believe we’ve proven we do business in a way that works for indies and investors while remaining fair and transparent for everyone. Good Shepherd is a fresh vision continuing that same spirit."

As Gambitious, the firm published 18 games across eight different digital platforms. It now has five more in the works, all of which will be released under the Good Shepherd name.
