Secret Kingdom Online developer and publisher Globex Studios has appointed MMO veteran and former Turbine executive Jason Bell to oversee its publishing initiatives, the company said. In the company's newly-created role of executive vice president of products, Bell will head production, development and pipeline planning, as well as oversee the company's publishing initiatives in the United States and Europe, from the company's Los Angeles office. Bell joins a number of ex-Pandemic developers that joined the company when it expanded to the U.S. last year. Though the China-focused Secret Kingdom Online is its only announced title from Globex so far, the company says it is readying a larger portfolio of original IP online and MMORPG games for Asia, Europe and North America. Prior to Globex, Bell served as the EVP of Turbine Entertainment, overseeing its Asheron's Call MMO. His approximately 17-year games background also includes a stint as SVP of Atari/Infogrames, senior producer at Electronic Arts, and executive producer at Kesmai Corporation.
