Former Konami Europe president is heading up Kojima Productions

In a move that seems to have gone unnoticed, Shinji Hirano, the former president of Konami Europe has been appointed president of Kojima Productions.

In a move that seems to have gone unnoticed, Shinji Hirano, the former president of Konami Europe has, been appointed president of Kojima Productions. 

The move was finally clocked earlier today by The Koalition, and according to Hirano's own Linkedin account he's been serving as Kojima Productions president for over a month. 

All in all, Hirano spent just under 11 years at Konami, holding a variety of executive positions before finally leaving in March, 2016. 

Now, as president of Kojima Productions, the industry vet will be responsible for "managing extremely talented creative teams as one single entity and providing the leadership to make company successful as one of the greatest creative studios in the world."

Kojima Productions reformed as an independent studio in the wake of Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima's now infamous split from Konami. 

Since then, the studio has revealed its first project will take the form of otherworldly action title, Death Stranding.
