PlayStation-owned studio Firesprite has acquired UK developer Fabrik Games for an undisclosed fee.

Fabrik was founded by Firesprite managing director Graeme Ankers in 2014 and has worked on a range of titles including Filthy Lucre, The Lost Bear, and The Persistence -- the latter of which was created in collaboration with Firesprite.

Ankers said the two teams will now work together to create "unique experiences for PlayStation fans" and strengthen Sony Interactive Entertainment's (SIE) catalog of exclusive titles.

According to a press release, the acquisition coincided with SIE's purchase of Firesprite earlier this month and means the studio now has 265 employees. At the time, PlayStation Studios boss Hermen Hulst said the Firesprite deal would allow the company to "push the bar even further" when it comes to first-party development.
