Another group of triple-A game development veterans has secured investment money to start a mid-sized studio. Yesterday the team at Lost Lake Games surfaced from the depths with news that they'd landed $5 million in a round of funding led by Bitkraft Ventures.

Lost Lake Games is helmed by game designer James Phinney, character artist Joe Pikop, and gameplay programmer Mark Pottorf. In an interview with Forbes, Bitkraft founding partner Joe Scott Rupp noted that the trio's broad range of development experience is "extremely rare" among studio co-founders.

The studio will be focused on "unforgettable experiences" that are "not tied to a single platform," Phinney added in a statement to Forbes.

Lost Lake Games will be expanding its presence in the Pacific Northwest, with its primary headquarters located in the Seattle area.
