European Union invests $12M in Yorkshire digital funding scheme

The European Union has funded a new scheme to invest in video game development, as well as TV and film projects, in the Yorkshire areas of the United Kingdom.

Newsbrief: The European Union has funded a new scheme to invest in video game development, as well as TV and film projects, in the Yorkshire areas of the United Kingdom. The Yorkshire Content Fund, run by Screen Yorkshire, is looking to invest in a number of Yorkshire-based companies, and is also hoping to attract more entertainment companies to the region. The European Regional Development Fund has invested £7.5 million ($11.9 million) in the Yorkshire Content Fund, while private sector investors have agreed to match that amount, bringing the total funding up to £15 million ($23.7 million).
