The Simulation Division of the Environmental Tectonics Corporation (ETC) announced that it will create training simulator stations for Pinellas Park High School in Pinellas Park, Florida. The training stations will supplement the school's recently announced medical training program First Responders: National Guard Center for Emergency Management. First Responders is a four-year study plan that will introduce participating students to the basic practices of emergency planning and first response to disasters and emergency incidents. The program is supported with a grant from the National Guard of the United States. ETC's Advanced Disaster Management Simulator (AMDS) training modules feature realistic simulations of disasters and emergency situations. The ADMS platform has been used to train emergency responders worldwide since its introduction in 1995. "We are proud to work with Pinellas Park High School and are excited that our system will be used to help expose young people to the world of emergency response," said ETC's Simulation Division president Marco van Wijngaarden. "It is our hope that ADMS will help develop their interest in the field and prepare them for further training and education to become America's next generation of first responders." The First Responders program is set to begin at Pinellas Park High School in the fall semester of 2009 with an introductory class of 125 students in the ninth grade.
