Fortnite maker Epic Games is opening a new development studio in Poland. The nascent outfit will create "original standalone experiences" in close collaboration with the Epic Games publishing team.

Epic has brought in the team from Bound, Linger In Shadows, and Datura developer Plastic to lead development at the Polish studio, and hopes the move will "spearhead the growth of Epic in Poland."

"For over twenty years, the team from Plastic has been developing some of the most ambitious and future facing projects in the Demoscene," said Epic Games' head of publishing, Hector Sanchez, in a blog post.

"They are an incredible group of talent who have created genre defining experiences that sit on the bleeding edge of technological advances, pushing hardware to the limits in a beautifully artistic way. We couldn’t be more excited to have them on our team."
