Tokyo-based social and mobile gaming giant DeNA has reported its seventh straight quarter of record earnings and profits as it looks to replicate the Mobage service's success beyond Japan. Net sales for the three-month period ending June 30 were up 43 percent year-over-year to 34.65 billion yen ($452.3 million), with net income up 45 percent to 9.46 billion yen ($123.4 million). DeNA's Mobage service is now used by over 30 million players in Japan alone, the company said, providing a strong base for the service's recent launch in the English-speaking world, as well as China and South Korea. "We are very pleased to yet again exceed goals as we keep our focus on an aggressive plan," DeNA president Isao Moriyasu said in a statement. "This quarter we are reporting significant steps toward our goal of creating the definitive global social games network." DeNA reported a 19 percent increase in the use of its moba-coin virtual currency over the previous quarter, with consumers spending over 1 billion of the coins across over 1,000 titles every month. The company also stressed how important December's launch of the Mobage service on smartphones was to the company's growth, with the service bringing in an average 938 yen ($12.20) per mobile user in June.
