After one week on the market, CrowdStar's newest iOS title, Social Girl, has reached more than 1 million downloads and has become the sixth highest grossing app on the iTunes App Store. Social Girl's success spells good news for CrowdStar's latest plan to expand its reach on mobile devices. In fact, CrowdStar says it now generates more about 50 percent of its revenue from its mobile games, reports VentureBeat. This mobile growth ties in with the company's previously announced "Project Trident" initiative, under which the company would focus its business to target three primary markets: Facebook, mobile devices, as well as Asia and its surrounding territories. In another recent push in the mobile space, CrowdStar launched its popular iOS title Top Girl to Android devices, selling the title exclusively via Amazon's Appstore for two weeks after launch. According to the company, this move was intended to help give CrowdStar an early foothold on the Kindle Fire. In addition, CrowdStar recently introduced Wasteland Empires, a new, hardcore-focused social game that further expands the company's catalog beyond female-focused titles like Top Girl and It Girl.
