CCP president Mike Tinney steps down

EVE Online developer CCP has confirmed that Mike Tinney, the president of the company's North American branch, has stepped down to found a new startup. Tinney originally joined CCP five years ago as part of its merger with White Wolf Publishing, the company behind the pen-and-paper World of Darkness IP. Prior to this merger, he spent 14 years managing White Wolf's book publishing and card game business. While working at CCP, Tinney oversaw the company's North American branch, where he directed development and publishing, and even briefly served as the company's global head of HR. Now, Tinney plans to jump into the health sector with a new startup dedicated to creating health and fitness games. While he is not prepared to officially announce the new company, Tinney told VentureBeat that it would in no way compete with CCP. Over the next few months, Tinney will also aid CCP in an advisory capacity to help the company make a smooth transition after his departure. Currently, CCP is developing Dust 514 for PlayStation 3 as well as a new online game based on the World of Darkness IP.
