Apple has paid $4B to app developers so far

Alongside Apple's record-breaking earnings for its first fiscal quarter, the company revealed that app developers across its products have collectively earned $4 billion, $700,000 of which came from its most recent quarter.

Newsbrief: Alongside Apple's record-breaking earnings for its first fiscal quarter, the company revealed that app developers across its products have collectively earned $4 billion so far, $700 million of which came from its most recent quarter, reports Yahoo. Given Apple's 30 percent cut from revenues on the Mac or iTunes App Store, this means that total revenues from app content have hit $5.71 billion, with Apple taking home $1.71 billion. In addition, Apple added that more than 550,000 apps exist across its Mac and iOS devices, and Inside Mobile Apps reports that Apple sold 67.87 million iOS devices in its first fiscal quarter.
