Amazon AppStore's appeal brings King.com exclusive to Kindle Fire

King.com, one of the largest game developers on Facebook, has ported its social game Bubble Saga to tablets, launching it exclusively on Kindle Fire.
King.com, one of the largest game developers on Facebook, has ported its popular social game Bubble Saga to tablets, launching it exclusively on Kindle Fire. Amazon's AppStore, which serves as Kindle Fire's app marketplace, has recently received praise from developers who've brought their games to the nascent platform. TinyCo, for instance, has called the store a "gold mine" and reported a significantly higher average revenue per user for Tiny Village on the Amazon AppStore, compared to its counterparts on iOS and Google Play. Mobile social game developer Storm8 (Farm Story) has also enjoyed success on Kindle Fire and Amazon's AppStore, as it saw a more than 1,000 percent increase in single-game revenues, as well as a tenfold increase in total virtual goods revenues to over $700,000 in March, after integrating the platform's new support for in-app purchases. King.com isn't the first major social game company to launch a new port exclusively on Kindle Fire; last December, CrowdStar debuted Top Girl on the tablet. Amazon managed to secure these exclusives despite the skyrocketing install base growth of its main rival, the iPad; Apple's tablet sold 11.8 million units in the last quarter alone. On Facebook, Bubble Saga has 7 million monthly active users and 1.1 million daily active users. King.com claims this Kindle Fire version is the first tablet game to be fully synchronized with Facebook in its gameplay, scores, progress, virtual goods, and other features. King.com's CEO Riccardo Zacconi comments, "In 2011, there were over 67 million tablets sold worldwide according to Strategy Analytics. The Android platform had a record 39 percent of the world's share and the Kindle Fire is increasingly leading that drive."
