The Museum of Art and Digital Entertainment is partnering with the Anti-Defamation League to host a weekend-long game jam centered around games that teach empathy and what it means to be an ally.
The weekend-long ‘Being an Ally Game Jam’ is set to take place between October 21 and October 22 in five different cities across the United States. In true game jam form, participating developers will have 24 hours to create games that embody the spirit of the event and contain anti-bias and anti-bullying themes.
For participating devs, the goal of the event is to transmute the ADL’s library of anti-bias resources into games that illustrate to players how to be a successful “ally to targeted communities.”
Following the game jam, each game will be judged by the ADL’s panel on how well those themes are communicated. The winning game will be then be showcased at the organization’s Never is Now summit in November.
Developers interested in taking part or looking for additional details on the event can find more information on the ADL’s event page.
