The man who left Microsoft after an ill-considered Tweet and subsequently became a notorious victim of internet toxicity is turning his experience into a game.

- Adam Orth, creator of >Adr1ft and victim of internet toxicity, in a new Kotaku piece. Adam Orth went from unknown to notorious when he told gamers who couldn't deal with Xbox One's (since canceled) always-online requirement to "deal with it." The unthinking remark set off a firestorm of controversy that culminated in waves of abuse and the loss of Orth's job. This is a story he told movingly at GDC Next last year. But now he's taking to the medium of games to tell it in a less literal way. His new game, >Adr1ft -- a prototype which Orth is hoping to fund, according to Kotaku -- "is a non-violent first-person game that poses the player as an astronaut who begins the game floating above Earth amid the debris of a mostly-wrecked space station," writes Stephen Totilo. >Adr1ft will support the Oculus Rift. The prototype is a game about dealing with the aftermath of a destructive calamity, which is -- to hear Orth tell it -- what his life was like in the aftermath of his unconsidered comment.
