The Finnish game development house 3rd Eye Studios has closed a round of funding that now leaves it with an additional $1 million investment at its disposal.

The developer plans to use the hefty sum to further develop 3rd Eye Core, its PC and mobile-focused VR development toolset. Additionally, the funds will help support the team through its ongoing virtual reality game development efforts, both on new titles and entries in its existing series Downward Spiral

The studio itself was founded in 2016 by a number of industry veterans from developers like Remedy Entertainment, Unity Technologies, Bugbear Entertainment, and Moon Studios. The recent investment came by way of a number of VR and video game-centric investors, such as ColoplNext’s ColoplVRFund, Karl Magnus Troedsson, Sisu Game Ventures Oy, GameFounders, Success (China) Limited, and a group of private investors.
