The officially licensed UEFA Euro 2012 video game, due to be released around the same time the 2012 European Football Championship kicks off this summer, will not be a standalone release, but rather DLC for EA's popular FIFA 12. A new version in the UEFA Euro video game franchise is released every four years to coincide with the championship, with the first in the series released in 1996 for Windows PC and Sega Saturn. However, this will be the first time the game has been made available as DLC for another game, rather than released as its own standalone version. From June, the game will be available to download through FIFA 12 which was released late last year. EA said last month that FIFA 12 has sold through more than 10 million units worldwide. The UEFA Euro 2012 DLC will be available for the Windows PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of FIFA 12, and feature a live service that draws real-life storylines from the actual tournament.
