Monomi Park’s plort-filled adventure Slime Rancher has surpassed 1 million sold, just weeks after its full launch and under two years after its initial release as an early access title last January.

While that milestone no doubt includes copies sold ahead of the game’s full launch two weeks back, the game’s developer did note that those 1 million sales do not include copies picked up for free through Microsoft’s Games With Gold Xbox Live subscription perk.

On its own, the Games With Gold program has handed out 3.5 million copies of Slime Rancher to Xbox Live subscribers on the Xbox One during the first half of the month-long promotion.

Gamasutra recently had a nice livestreamed chat about Slime Rancher's development with developer Nick Popovich; you can find both digestible clips and the full version (along with loads of other great game dev chats) over on the Gamasutra Twitch channel.
