The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim took the Christmas number one in the UK software sales charts for 2011, beating off the likes of Just Dance 3 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. For the week ended December 17, and according to data from tracking firm Chart-Track, Bethesda's open-world RPG saw sales dip by 8 percent week-over-week, but the title still managed to hold on to the top spot. In doing so, it ended EA and Activision's eight year reign over the Christmas number one, which started with EA's Medal of Honor: Rising Sun back in 2003. This week saw no new entries into the top 10, with many of the usual suspects hanging around, including FIFA 12 at number four, and Saints Row: The Third at five. Mario & Sonic London 2012 Olympic Games for the Nintendo Wii jumped into the top 10 at number eight, no doubt thanks to a series of TV advertising spots over the Christmas period. Below are Chart-Track's all-platforms sales charts, which include unit sales of all versions of a given title, and the individual platform charts, which treat individual SKUs separately. UK All-Platforms Top 10 1. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (Bethesda) 2. Just Dance 3 (Ubisoft) 3. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (Activision) 4. FIFA 12 (EA) 5. Saints Row: The Third (THQ) 6. Battlefield 3 (EA) 7. Assassin's Creed: Revelations (Ubisoft) 8. Mario & Sonic London 2012 Olympic Games (Sega) 9. Need For Speed: The Run (EA) 10. Professor Layton and the Spectre's Call (Level 5) UK Individual Platforms Top 10 While Just Dance 3 missed out on the top spot in the main charts, the Wii version took number one in Chart-Track's individual formats top 10 chart. This was followed by Skyrim and Modern Warfare 3 at two and three respectively. 1. Just Dance 3 (Ubisoft, Wii) 2. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (Bethesda, Xbox 360) 3. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (Activision, Xbox 360) 4. Saints Row: The Third (THQ, Xbox 360) 5. Mario & Sonic London 2012 Olympic Games (Sega, Wii) 6. FIFA 12 (EA, Xbox 360) 7. Assassin's Creed: Revelations (Ubisoft, Xbox 360) 8. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (Activision, PS3) 9. Professor Layton and the Spectre's Call (Level 5, DS) 10.
