Film director J.J. Abrams and his production company Bad Robot are working with Epic's Chair Entertainment, makers of Shadow Complex and the Infinity Blade games, to develop an espionage game: Spyjinx.

This is notable in light of the fact that Abrams showed up onstage at the DICE Summit in Las Vegas back in 2013 to talk about how he wanted to get into making video games.

At that point he was talking up working with Valve to make both games and films because, as he later told Gamasutra, "I like their culture, the way they think. It feels very much in line with how we work at Bad Robot."

The status of that partnership is unclear, but now Bad Robot is collaborating with Chair to develop and release Spyjinx, which Chair chief Donald Mustard describes in conversation with broadcaster Geoff Keighley (video embedded above) as "an action-strategy game mixed with really dynamic world building, with a healthy dose of RPG character development," on PC and mobile devices next year.
