The upcoming Blu-ray release of spring movie Battle: Los Angeles will include a playable, half-hour single-player demo of Sony and Insomniac Games' PlayStation 3 title Resistance 3. The Blu-ray disc, due June 6, will include a half-hour single-player demo of the game, according to an announcement on G4, ahead of the game's planned release this September. A multiplayer beta test for Resistance 3 will also be available to players who pre-order the title from certain retailers, as well as those who purchased the special "Full Deployment Edition" of SOCOM 4. In Europe, this beta will only be available to PlayStation Plus subscribers. This isn't the first time a PS3 game demo has been included with a Blu-ray movie. In 2009, the Blu-ray release of sci-fi thriller District 9 included a demo for then upcoming God of War III. Other Blu-ray movies often include downloadable wallpapers and themes to be used on the PS3 dashboard. It's unclear whether the Resistance 3 single-player demo will also be available as a download on the PlayStation Network. Sony had not returned request for comment as of press time.
