Radical Entertainment and Activision's open-world sequel
Prototype 2 launched at the top of the UK sales charts last week, despite seeing lower week-one sales than its predecessor.
For the week ended April 28, and according to data from tracking firm Chart-Track,
Prototype 2 was the only new entry into the top 40, with 63 percent of sales of the game for the Xbox 360 and 37 percent on PS3.
Last week's number one, the Xbox release of
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, dropped down to number six, just behind top five usual suspects
FIFA Street, FIFA 12, Mass Effect 3 and
Kinect Star Wars.
Down at the bottom of the top 10, THQ's
Saints Row: The Third re-entered the chart just below Sega's
Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games, which didn't shift from last week's number nine position.
While it doesn't feature in the top 10, Mind Candy's
Moshi Monsters: Moshling Zoo for Nintendo DS had a notable week, becoming the first ever DS game to top the DS charts for 15 weeks on the trot.

Prototype 2 took the top of Chart-Track's individual formats top 10 chart, followed by the PS3 version at number two.
Microsoft's
Kinect Star Wars continued to sit close to the top at number three, while last week's number one
The Witcher 2 on Xbox 360 dropped to number four.
