The pair of sequels launched on June 23 in Japan with 1.16 million pre-orders already under its belt, and saw the third best start for a Nintendo DS game ever in the country, according to data from Enterbrain and Famitsu (as translated by Andriasang). In comparison, the game's predecessor, Pokemon Black and White, managed to sell more than 2.6 million units in its first two days on sale back in 2010. Pokemon Black and White 2 is due for release in the U.S. later this year.
