Heroes of Newerth expands to CIS regions with localized clients

Heroes of Newerth developer S2 Games has signed a partnership with Garena, with the aim to provide users in the CIA regions with dedicated, localized clients for its popular real-time strategy title.

Heroes of Newerth developer S2 Games today announced that it has signed a partnership with regional online gaming platform Garena, with the aim to provide users in the Commonwealth of Independent States regions with dedicated, localized clients for its popular real-time strategy title. Garena already provides many areas in South East Asia with localized clients for the game, and will now focus its attention on expanding the game to the CIS regions, to improve the overall user experience in those areas. The CIS regional organization comprises of 10 countries in total: Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Georgia, Armenia, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Moldova. As well as localized clients, S2 Games is also looking to give players in the CIS regions localized marketing, local tournaments and region-specific e-Sports presence. The transition across to the new clients has already begun, with players in the CIS regions able to now transfer to the new CIS open beta client if they wish. Marc Deforest, CEO and founder of S2 Games, explained, "We want to ensure the longevity and growth of HoN in CIS and across the globe. Garena has been expanding HoN in South East Asia for well over a year with excellent results and we know they can provide the same premium gaming experience in the CIS region."
