Zynga's former SVP of games, Mark Skaggs, has joined Indian mobile game developer, Moonfrog Labs.

Skaggs, who created games including FarmVille, CityVille, and Empires & Allies, will serve as Moonfrog's director. Speaking on his blog, Skaggs said he joined the Indian dev to help fulfill its mission of creating a "center of excellence" for game creation in the region.

After spending seven years at Zynga, Skaggs initially planned to take a year out and look for the right opportunity. However, after meeting with Moonfrog, a studio comprised of former Zynga devs, he was convinced to end his "planned vacation much earlier than expected."

"Joining Moonfrog on their mission means making great games and also an opportunity to give back by helping and mentoring smart, creative and hungry game makers like others did for me," said Skaggs.
