Fallout 4 ships 12 million units in first day

Newsbrief: Publisher Bethesda Softworks said Friday it shipped 12 million units of Fallout 4 at launch, or over $750 million, across physical retail and digital outlets in its first day. The game launched November 10.

Fallout 4 became the most played game on Steam upon launch, surpassing the previous record for concurrent play with over 470,000 players.

The Fallout 4 companion app, Fallout Pip-Boy, rose to the top of the App Store game charts, while the post-apocalyptic sequel also set a new Twitch record, becoming the most viewed game launch of 2015.
