Newsbrief: Frontier has sold 1.4 million copies of its space exploration sim, Elite Dangerous, across PC, Mac, and Xbox One.

The game hit that milestone at the end of December 2015, a year after it launched for PC following a successful crowdfunding campaign that saw 25,681 backers pledge £1,578,316 ($2.27 million).

According to Frontier CEO David Braben, the average play time among the game's 1.4 million players is 60 hours, meaning that the entire community has now spent around 84 million hours in Elite's digital universe.
