Newsbrief: Machinarium developer Amanita Design has apologized to consumers who pre-ordered its latest release Botanicula through digital distribution channels at full price, following the revelation that the game is available for pay-what-you-want from the latest Humble Indie Bundle. The "Humble Botanicula Debut" bundle launched yesterday, allowing users to purchase the game, along with others, at whatever price they want. However, many fans of the studio had already pre-ordered the game from GOG.com and GamersGate for $9.99, leading to angry responses to the HIB inclusion. Amanita designer Jakub Dvorsky has now told Rock Paper Shotgun that the studio had "no intention to rob anyone," and said that those whose pre-ordered the game through GOG.com and Gamersgate will receive the game's soundtrack, an art book and a copy of Machinarium as an apology.
