Rovio's mega-hit Angry Birds franchise has now seen 200 million downloads across all platforms and versions, the publisher announced today. That number includes somewhere over 100 million downloads for the original game (as of March) as well as at least 10 million downloads for Angry Birds Rio in its first ten days on sale earlier this year. The company also announced today that a web-based Angry Birds for Google's Chrome Web Store has attracted 6 million downloads in less than a week, and that sales of Angry Birds branded plush toys have now surpassed 3 million. The original Angry Birds was among the top selling iOS apps in 2010, and led first day sales on Apple's Mac app store in January. The title had attracted 30 million free downloads on Android as of early March, according to Rovio. After receiving $42 million in funding earlier this year, Rovio chairman Kaj Hed said the company was aiming for an initial public offering of stock sometime in the next five years.
