Mission Of Honor Is China's Answer To America's Army

The Chinese People's Liberation Army has co-developed a first-person shooter military simulation for its officers and soldiers called Mission of Honor, according to a report. According to the PLA Daily (as translated by China Daily), the game was co-developed with Wuxi Giant Interactive Group, and has been in development for approximately two years. The game is said to follow a typical soldier's life at military camp, with a storyline leading to a final large-scale battle code-named the "Mission of Honor." Modes include basic training, solo missions and team combat. Mission of Honor is said to be "quite fun," according to the report, and was developed because military simulations created by foreign countries may confuse soldiers due to other militaries having different values. The game follows the United States' own official military simulation, America's Army, which Army personnel famously claimed was more effective at recruitment than "any other method of contact." As of December of 2009, the United States Military has spent $33 million on the series' development. Mission of Honor is in its final debugging stages, and is expected to be released soon.
