Faceware offers new simultaneous video/voiceover capture service

Middleware developer Faceware Technologies has partnered with translation and audio services company Binari Sonori, in a bid to raise the quality of video and voiceover localization in video games. This new video-based localization service uses Faceware's headcam systems to capture video of a voice actor's performance, while simultaneously capturing audio -- in this way, actors and animators have a time-saving video reference for localization. By automatically syncing audio and animation for any language, the two companies say that this new service can heavily cut back on the potential time and costs needed to properly animate lip movements and the like. The video above shows the tech in action, with games including Grand Theft Auto V and Battlefield: Bad Company. More information can be found at the Faceware website.
