With GDC coming up fast, conference officials highlight a great GDC 2016 talk about the scoring of Everybody's Gone To The Rapture from composer Jessica Curry.

Organizers of the Game Developers Conference are finalizing the lineup of great talks for GDC 2016 in March, and today they're excited to highlight one about the remarkable soundtrack of The Chinese Room's Everybody's Gone To The Rapture.

"The Music of Rapture: Scoring For The End of The World" will be part of GDC's popular Audio track of talks, and feature celebrated composer and studio director Jessica Curry speaking frankly about the process of creating a world-class score for your game.

In addition to showcasing how she scored Everybody's Gone To The Rapture, Curry plans to detail (using musical examples) the ways in which the music functions in the game and will also talk about the ethos of how you create such a score. 

She'll walk through issues such as how you work with the designers, when to start writing the music, what software to use, and when you should start exploring the more esoteric aspects of creating a great score: the passion, the focus and the mindset needed. All in all, the talk will hopefully both technically enlighten and inspire.

There's lots of other great talks on the Audio track that GDC 2016 attendees shouldn't miss, including "Anatomy of a Great Voice-Over: A Casting & Recording Primer" from actor Dee Baker and Blizzard voice-over director Andrea Toyias,  "Hedgehog Noises in VR - Audio for Oculus Story Studio's 'Henry'" from project audio lead Thomas Bible,  and "Ori and the Blind Forest: Sonic Polish Through Distributed Development" from composer Gareth Coker and audio director Andrew Lackey.
