Writers' Guild Awards names noms, including this year's best game scribes

The Writers' Guild of Great Britain has announced the nominations for its annual Writers' Guild Awards, which look to celebrate the best wordsmiths in the business.

Newsbrief: The Writers' Guild of Great Britain has announced the nominations for its annual Writers' Guild Awards, revealing who's in with a chance of taking home the statue for Best Writing in a Video Game.

FIFA 17's narrative-driven story mode "The Journey," written by Martin Korda, Matthew Turner, Tom Watt, is the first name on the shortlist. 

Lynchian indie mystery Virginia, written by Jonathan Burroughs, Lyndon Holland, Terry Kenny, is the second, while Mata Haggis' first-person narrative effort, Fragments of Him, completes the set. 

The winner will be announced at an awards ceremony on January 23, 2017, at the Royal College of Physicians in central London.
