French company Allegorithmic says that Asia outsourcing firm Virtuos has licensed Allegorithmic's Substance 3D tools suite into its art production pipeline. "Virtuos is one of the largest and most advanced art production companies in Asia," says Allegorithmic founder Sebastien Deguy. "We are happy to have their support as we work to assist additional game companies across Asia." The company's existing clients in Asia include NCsoft, The9, T3 Entertainment and Gravity . The Substance suite includes Allegorithmic's Substance Air middleware, which is aimed at producing detailed textures with small file sizes, particularly targeted for online developers. Virtuos artists will learn how to use the tool and apply it to the projects the firm takes on, as well as integrate Substance into its own art pipeline. The company will also provide training and support for Substance in Asia. Virtuos CEO Gilles Langourieux says: "Our job is to provide the best quality assets while simultaneously containing production cost and Substance is helping us fulfill this mission like no other texturing tool on the market today."
