Technical Artist, Avalanche Studios

Location: New York, NY Avalanche Studios is currently looking for a Technical Artist to work on the development of high profile AAA projects for PS4, Xbox One and PC. The ideal candidate feels comfortable in a team environment and is able to contribute on many levels like research, modeling, texturing and effects. You will work with the Art Director to help manage, research and evolve the art content creation pipelines and act as a liaison between the artists and programmers. The ideal candidate should be a highly motivated individual who is good at communicating and working within cross-discipline teams. As an employee of Avalanche Studios, you work in a environment where social skills are just as important as your professional skills. You work with a team of talented and experienced game developers, who have worked on numerous best-selling and critically acclaimed titles. Required qualifications - Minimum 3 years in the games industry. - Basic knowledge of graphics-related programming including shaders and textures. - Expert knowledge of Maya. - Strong knowledge of current 3D graphics techniques. - Strong knowledge of particle systems, environmental effects, cloth simulations, lighting, and dynamics. - High proficiency in technical problem solving. - Scripting experience (Mel or Python). - Comfortable working independently or within a group. - Shipped game titles as Technical Artist preferably a AAA title. Desired qualifications - Experience working with PS4 and/or Xbox One hardware. - Rigging/IK setup experience. - Photoshop, Zbrush or Mudbox knowledge. - Knowledge of coding (C++, etc) a huge plus.
