What do I need to be Gameplay Programmer?

I want to become a Gameplay Programmer. What are the requirements/skillset I need to have to get a job as a Gameplay Programmer? I am currently majoring in a bachelor's degree in Game Programming and Development. Also, are there jobs very similar to this that I can apply for that will increase my odds of becoming a gameplay programmer in the future?
