Tech Tree is a list of links about games in BYOND Strategy, a guild run by volunteers on a game/development portal and engine called BYOND.

How long have the news and ad spam blogs been appearing on Gamasutra?  I'm not complaining.  Compared to them, Tech Tree looks much more relevant to the Gamasutra audience.  Mmmmmm, low-hanging fruit!

  • Fortay and Infamous ZipCom have been removed from the guild, but 172.16.0.1 may make them available under his Calus CoRPS key. Both games, along with Junk Metal and The Last Wizard, are likely to be unavailable again when their server contract runs out as Calus CoRPS will be concentrating on a degree in criminal justice sciences instead of videogames.

  • Fat Albert's Godship has been added to the guild, but I'm not sure if it's the correct genre. The game reminded me of Savage and Squeegy's Faith, but everything I witnessed came from a single unit's point of view so I'm not sure how accurate that is. Godship is currently available for download for those who wish to check it out themselves.

  • Acebloke made a minor update to his military/economic simulation, Wargames, which seems to focus on the interface. There is also a new gun unit type called Assault Infantry.

  • Polatrite has been announcing and hosting his current project, Pokemon Challenger. I have not played, but I hear it's a neat base defense game where you try to guard your own units while capturing more from oncoming waves. Screenshots are available.

  • Squeegy has moved the forums for his god-worshipping/god-playing game, Faith. They have now been merged into The Agora, which appears to be more focused on roleplaying, but it's more active.

  • I removed some games from the guild due to there being no way to play them and then warned a few others. You probably don't care, but it makes it look like I'm busy when I watched Netflix movies all week instead of working on audio for my games. ;)
