"It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no knowing where you might be swept off to.” JRR Tolkien

Mad Monkey Militia is proud to announce that we have shipped our 1st game, iHurt, and is now available on the app store. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ihurt/id335584473?mt=8

It is a culmination of hard work by 3 talented individuals and I am proud to count myself as one of the 3.

It is hard to believe that 7 months ago we started our journey. Two former co workers trying once again to forge out and create something we could call our own. What started as a whim of let's do something in our spare time, very soon became a necessity for me. I am the artist of the company and in many ways the original vision of the company was mine. I wish I could take credit for everything but our designer is always very good about helping to channel my ramblings with his own ideas and enthusiasm.

We tossed many ideas back and forth and even did a demo for a tongue and cheek game based on the U.S. Government Bailout. (Which funny enough someone has now done)  It was a good learning experience. We even managed to create a prototype. The best thing we learned was that we needed a coder.

Truly the universe was smiling on us as our designer brought on an old cohort to write code.

We charged forward with our new team. Facing many hurdles along the way. We had decided to go with a 3rd part engine which was as much of a hindrance as it was helpful. The approval process was a process of trying to move forward while being in the dark. But in the end we persevered and managed to ship our 1st app

I want to thank my two partners in helping to create iHurt, for sharing in this dream called Mad Monkey Militia, and working so hard to fulfill it. I will be taking the opportunity to chronicle our successes and failures of app game development in this blog. Stay tuned for more. -Jude
