Through the Kill Screen, the 1980s indie adventure-horror where you play as mischievous kids uncovering a sinister 8bit conspiracy has been out for one week on Steam. Kids broke through the final level of arcade classics and found something waiting for them... Can they survive what slumbers behind the Kill Screen? Can anyone?

Can you?

With a big heart and a twinkle in its eyes, the solo-indie-dev made game, Through the Kill Screen, has, so far, charmed its players. All early customer reviews are positive, of particular praise being the story. Gamers have called it, among other things, "interesting and breathtaking," and an "awesome 80s childhood experience."

To put it another way, one Kill Screen survivor commented on what he thought was the essence of his experience. "This game captures the true struggles of a gamer kid being put down by the repressed adults of our education system."

Reviewers also enjoyed the great soundtrack and whimsical-spooky atmosphere. Players found the experience to be a lot of fun, which is, after all, the true purpose of any entertainment.

Up-and-coming hilarious YouTuber, RageKitt, played through the early part of the game and had an infectiously good time doing so. Her humour and enthusiasm really highlighted the best aspects of Through the Kill Screen. Take a peek to find out what all the fuss is about :(Warning- a few swears so kids, cover your ears)

To put it all into perspective, dynomythead88 is not faint in his praise, with just a tiny amount of tongue-in-cheek added for good measure. “This modern masterpiece of gaming allows you to fight against...injustice...all while getting free slushies from some medium wage worker."

And you can't beat that. Can anyone?

Can you?
