Global game publisher CFK (headed by: Chang-sig Koo) is proud to announce today (7/13) that it will release a physical version of side-scrolling action game Koumajou Remilia: Scarlet Symphony, launched to positive reviews on Nintendo Switch™ and Steam, for North American players.
 
North American game distributor Limited Run Games announces that they will release a North American Nintendo Switch™ edition of Koumajou Remilia: Scarlet Symphony during its online LRG3 showcase on July 13th, 2023.
 
With the release of the North American Nintendo Switch™ edition, more players from around the globe will be able to get their hands on Koumajou Remilia: Scarlet Symphony. To celebrate the release of the Nintendo Switch™ edition for North America, CFK is excited to unveil new key visuals for the game and a brand new trailer. The new key visuals rejuvenate the overall atmosphere of Koumajou Remilia: Scarlet Symphony while also casting the appearing characters in a new light.

The release date and contents of the North American Nintendo Switch™ edition of Koumajou Remilia: Scarlet Symphony have yet to be confirmed, but Limited Run Games is planning to announce those details at a later date.
 
Koumajou Remilia: Scarlet Symphony is a 2D side-scrolling action game that was released globally on Nintendo Switch™ and Steam July 28th, 2022, featuring characters from the Touhou Project. 
 
The game centers around main character Reimu Hakurei, who is heading to the Scarlet Devil Castle to find the cause of a mysterious event plaguing Gensokyo. This year-old game is still beloved by fans for the dark atmosphere and character design of popular illustrator Banpai Akira (晩杯あきら), along with audio that matches the mood and the complete experience of the game.
 
Newer versions of Koumajou Remilia: Scarlet Symphony have improved upon the quality of the original version by adding HD graphics and various other elements to the game. It also includes English, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, and French, and is now fully-voiced by popular voice actresses, a feature that was not in the original.

Adding to the original elements of the game, Suika Ibuki, the ‘oni’ who waits for Reimu Hakurei as a mid-stage boss, can join up as a partner and lend her skills to the protagonist. In addition to this, there are a whole host of features for players to enjoy, including various achievements, unlockables to collect, and “Extra Easy” mode, which will help those unfamiliar with this style of action game reach the ending.


The announcement of this year’s North American Nintendo Switch™ edition of Koumajou Remilia: Scarlet Symphony is only expected to build the fanbase of the game following its global 2022 launch. Its sequel, Koumajou Remilia 2: Stranger’s Requiem, predicted to be a booming success as well, is expected to be released by the end of this year. Look for Limited Run Games to announce the package contents and release date of the North American Nintendo Switch™ edition at a later date.
