Brussels, Belgium, 26 January 2022 -- Thomas Waterzooi is bringing Piet Mondrian’s paintings to life in Please, Touch the Artwork, the award-winning zen puzzler out now on PC and mobile. In Please, Touch the Artwork, you’ll unravel the origins of pure abstract art, help two lovebirds find each other, and turn the overwhelming emotions of the big city into poetry:
Featuring a jazzy soundtrack, fun art facts, and the freeing permission to finally touch the artwork, Please, Touch the Artwork is Thomas Waterzooi’s first release as a solo developer after a career in gameplay and AI development with the likes of Larian Studios and IOI. Inspired by Thomas’s conflicting feelings on modern abstract art and his early prototype for a Mondrian painting generator, the game was born.
You can now break the golden rule of every gallery and touch the artwork on Steam, the Apple App Store, Google Play and

  • Play procedurally-generated puzzles based on Mondrian paintings such as Compositions with Red Blue Yellow, Broadway Boogie Woogie, and New York City
  • Waltz through this collection of three different paintings — each with its own unique gameplay and puzzles
  • Solve more than 160 randomly generated puzzles with 2 - 3 hours of playtime and no time-pressure
  • Get to know the story behind some of the first abstract artists
  • Accessible gameplay, including color-blind mode and larger text
  • Vibe to a jazzy soundtrack that provides ambience to your painting-prodding

Two art installations on the same theme from Studio Waterzooi are also on their way: Please, Touch the Artwork gives you carte blanche as the museum rope is cut and invites you to question cultural norms. Landscape Artist Without Landscape lets you create the landscape for a painter missing their vista.
