Vancouver Film School (VFS), the Canadian institution that offers both animation and game curricula, has partnered with Joost, an online broadcast-quality television service, to host student works.
Joost will provide two channels -- Animation & Visual Effects and Drama & Documentary -- that will show award-winning student films, giving students a larger channel through which to promote their talents. School officials say they will be uploading new content every month.
“We are ecstatic at the prospect of bringing our students’ work to a whole new audience,” said Stephen Webster in a prepared statement. Webester, director of marketing at the university, added, “Being the first school to partner with Joost is a testament to the quality and diversity of student work being produced at VFS. We look forward to a long and entertaining future with Joost.”
The Animation & Visual Effects channel will highlight the work of VFS who have focused their academic training in 3D animation and visual effects, classical animation, digital character animation, or who have applied for Houdini certification.
