Today's round-up includes news of A Vampyre Story being signed by Crimson Cow, Japanese reaction to the upcoming web browser for the Nintendo DS, and Q's Tetsuya Mizuguchi's (Rez, Lumines) new music games for the PSP and DS, as well as the latest GameSetWatch posts, product news, project news, and Gamasutra job postings. - Hamburg-based publisher Crimson Cow announced that a publishing agreement has been signed between Autumn Moon Entertainment and Crimson Cow. Through the agreement, Crimson Cow has secured the worldwide rights to the adventure A Vampyre Story, which is currently under development by Autumn Moon Entertainment. Bill Tiller, CEO and Creative Director of Autumn Moon Entertainment, noted: "My long-standing experience in this industry has taught me above all: Key to the success of any production is a team that believes in the project from day one, and that can focus all of its know-how and passion. Only then does a great idea become a great game! In Crimson Cow we have found just the right partner, and together we will publish an absolutely top product." - Results of an online poll that asked readers their feelings regarding the upcoming Nintendo DS Opera web browser were released by Japanese magazine Weekly Famitsu and partially translated by consumer site GameSpot. The results noted that of those who participated, only 55.3 percent indicated an interest in browsing the internet on the Nintendo DS, while 27.7 percent stated they were not interested in the browser. 17 percent of those surveyed said that they were unsure about it. Convenience ranked as the primary reason for those who said they were interested in the new technology, which ships in Japan later this month. Others who were not as excited about the browser noted that they already have this capability with other devices, or are uninterested due to a lack of support for Flash or other multimedia formats, as well as a lack of access to a wireless LAN. - In an interview with Japanese video game magazine Famitsu, as detailed by popular consumer website IGN, Rez and Space Channel 5 designer Tetsuya Mizuguchi indicated that his studio, Q Entertainment, is currently developing a pair of new music-based titles – one for the PSP and one for the Nintendo DS. Mizuguchi is serving as the executive producer both games. The PSP is getting Gunpey-R (short for Gunpey Reverse), while the DS is getting Oto wo Tsunagou! Gunpey Reverse (which translates to Connect the Sounds! Gunpey Reverse). According to the report, both music puzzle games, which are each expected to ship in Japan this fall, are based on the 1999 Wonderswan puzzle game Gunpey. - The latest updates on Gamasutra sister weblog GameSetWatch include the announcement of a new demo for Steve Ince's Mr. Smoozles Goes Nutso, a look back at Cosmic Race for the PlayStation, and a look at a little-known upcoming Xbox Live Arcade game called Small Arms. - Also updated today: Gamasutra product news on the integration of Instinct Studio and AI.implant tools and the release of PTI's VZAutoCal solution, a new Educational Game Development RFP project by Maryland Public Television, as well as the latest Gamasutra job postings, featuring openings from Blue Fang Games, Buzz Monkey Software, Datascope Recruitment, Slipgate Ironworks, THQ, Ubisoft, and Volition.
