Atari will reportedly publish defunct Brash Entertainment's Tale of Despereaux film game on PC, PlayStation 2, DS, and Wii. The Xbox 360 version of the kid-friendly property is reportedly shelved, according to Variety. Atari, in the midst of a resurgence of sorts with former Sony Worldwide Studios head Phil Harrison at the helm, has shown interest lately in buying up jettisoned properties, as when it scooped up Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena and Ghostbusters from the newly-merged Activision Blizzard. According to Variety's report, with the film about to launch and the game slated to release concurrently, there's little time for any further marketing. In fact, the game's box will still say "Brash" on it. And there's no accounting yet for other abandoned Brash titles, such as 7 Studios' Six Flags Fun Park, which Atari elected not to pick up. 7 Studios is currently suing Brash for its work on that title and on Tim Burton film game 9, and the collapsed publisher also faces a similar suit from Slovenian developer Zootfly, regarding the video game version of Fox TV show Prison Break. Consumer site GameSpot, reporting from Atari's press event, also says the publisher will bring Telltale Games' Sam & Max Season 2 to retail shelves internationally, although Telltale will still offer the PC title as a downloadable on its own site and through the GameTap service. Dreamcatcher, The Adventure Company, and JoWood Group brought the first season of the adventure duo to Wii and disc-based PC, although no specific platforms for the second season were announced. Just recently, Atari also revealed that Q Entertainment's Tetsuya Mizuguchi would be creating a Wii music game for it to publish, and as part of that relationship, Atari will also release a 3-title box set of Mizuguchi's best-known work.
