Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. announced it has struck an exclusive game development deal with Eat, Sleep, Play, the new studio formed by
God of War and
Calling all Cars creator David Jaffe and Scott Campbell, former chief director of Incognito Entertainment (
Warhawk).
Under the agreement, Eat, Sleep, Play is signed on for a multi-year, multi-title deal to develop PlayStation 3 titles, the first of which is slated for release in 2008.
In addition to the deal with SCEA, Eat, Sleep, Play will also create
Twisted Metal: Head On for Playstation 2, scheduled for release this winter. The company says
Head On will feature never-before released levels from the scrapped
Twisted Metal: Black Part II, and include a documentary on the series.
SCEA also confirmed, in the same announcement, that the core members of Incognito's
Warhawk team will remain with SCEA's Santa Monica studio, and will continue to produce
Warhawk content.
"We are extremely pleased to be working with David and Scott and supporting them in their new endeavor," said Shuhei Yoshida, senior vice president, product development, SCEA. "Through hit after hit, they have
established themselves as two of the most talented individuals this industry has ever seen, and I look forward to seeing what kind of further gaming innovation they can bring to the PlayStation brand through our new development deal."
