Representatives from IDG World Expo have announced the appointment of former Entertainment Software Association (ESA) senior vice president Carolyn Rauch as the organization's vice president of event development, where she will help steer the upcoming consumer focused E for All Expo.
According to IDG, Rauch's responsibilities will include an emphasis on strategic planning and branding across all events, including E for All, which will debut on October 18-21, 2007 at the Los Angeles Convention Center and the LA Live/Nokia Theatre.
With 20 years of experience, Rauch is perhaps most recognized for her contributions to E3 as an senior executive at the ESA, where she also helped to manage the organization's refocused E3 Media & Business Summit, set to take place in July. She also handled public relations, research, and other aspects of the E3 trade show, as well as grassroots campaigns and other programs for the organization.
Rauch's departure from the ESA follows that of former E3 operations head Mary Dolaher, who is now heading up the IDG division behind the E for All Expo, and occurs just a couple weeks after the ESA named Michael D. Gallagher
as the next president of the U.S. based trade group.
"Carolyn is a seasoned executive who brings a broad range of experience to IDG World Expo and we are thrilled to have her on board,” said Mary Dolaher, CEO, IDG World Expo. “She will play a pivotal role in helping us build our event portfolio, as well as build on the success of our existing events.”
