Organizers of the SIGGRAPH 2007 graphics conference have confirmed that Electronic Arts' chief visual officer Glenn Entis will be one of three featured speakers at the upcoming event, scheduled to take place August 5-9 at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California. During his presentation, Entis is expected to address recent accomplishments and upcoming challenges for interactive graphics in video games. The executive's address will serve as part of the 2007 event's new expanded speaker format, whereby three featured speakers that will represent different key areas instead of the single keynote speaker format featured in previous events. The remaining two keynote speakers have not yet been announced for the August event. Entis' responsibilities at EA include working closely with artists and designers on the pre-production and visual development of game software. In addition, the former DreamWorks Interactive CEO also serves on the board of governors for the Emily Carr College of Art and on the advisory board for the Masters of Digital Media, a new graduate school program at Great Northern Way in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. “We are honored to have such a seasoned industry leader speak at SIGGRAPH 2007,” stated Joe Marks, SIGGRAPH 2007 Conference Chair from Walt Disney Feature Animation. “Glenn is a leading member of the computer-graphics community, a compelling visionary, and a long-time SIGGRAPH attendee.
