Activision will release a separate "Renegade Edition" of its upcoming DJ Hero game, including a "premium" version of the turntable controller, a hard case that converts to a DJ stand, and an exclusive CD two-pack of Eminem and Jay-Z. The CDs feature unreleased tracks and a special case designed by graphic artist Shepherd Fairey. Activision hasn't announced a retail price for the basic game nor for this new premium edition, but both are expected to release this Fall. Activision says the game, which is an extension of the Guitar Hero brand and developed by Activision-owned FreeStyleGames, will let players manipulate over 100 tracks into over 90 unique mixes. The title, which will ship for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as well as platforms such as Wii and PS2, teaches "basic and advanced DJ Hero techniques" over five difficulty modes: beginner, easy, medium, hard, and expert. The turntable peripheral is used for scratching, blending, cross-fading and sampling, turntable controller immerses fans into the promising "room for creative expression" with effects and player-chosen samples.
